back from the travelbook fair of clermont-ferrand

I spend a great time for this 15th edition of the "rendez-vous du carnet de voyage" in clermont-ferrand last week end, presenting my 2 new published books in france: "cuba, an 56 de la révolution" by la boîte à bulles and "lapin au japon" by elytis.
the fair was a success, with around 20.000 visitors this year, a blast!!
unfortunately, my book of cuba was not awarded for the "grand prix", but the winners (benjamin flao, troubs and cabu) are such good that I can't complain.

and of course, we met until late with the urban sketchers at the end of the day:

it was the occasion to meet up with some old friends, to meet some new one, and to eat huge "fromage" and "truffade".
thanks to all the visitors and friends that say hi! at my stand, and the one who came for a dedication, and to the association ifav for the great organisation.
I can't leave the fair without books, I will be busy reading this in the coming weeks:

see you in bordeaux, france, this week end, at the festival animasia for the presentation of my new book "Lapin au Japon". I will be dedicating my book in exclusivity on saturday and sunday at my publisher stand: elytis.

last week, during "la mercè", the biggest festival in barcelona, the "parc de la ciutadella" turn me back in the 50's through this old carrousel and I loved it.

urban sketchers in liège

last week, gérard michel invited 12 sketchers in liège, belgium, to sketch the city during 4 intense days.
florian afflerbach, simonetta capecchi, fabien denoël, emdé, rené fijten, miguel herranz, antoine michel, gérard michel, corinne raes, luis ruiz, rolf schroeter, inma serrano and I sketched like crazy, to finally exposed around 70 meters of drawings in the "théâtre de liège".
the opening of the exhibition was the last stop of the sketchcrawl organized that day.
the exhibition is running until the 27 of september. if you pass by, don't miss gérard michel's exhibition next door: "liège, jouets de perspectives".

while the 5th urban sketching symposium is running in paraty, brazil, I'm thinking of you from barcelona.
I remember the wonderful time we had together last year in barcelona during the 4th symposium, sharing tips and friendship.
here are the sketches I made as the local correspondent last year, I hope that they will bring you back to this great moments as it does for me.

I miss you all, and I hope to meet you soon again.
